Reporting to the GL Accounting  Manager, the General Ledger Senior Accountant will be  responsible for  the whole general ledger activities and will  ensure the timely and accurate preparation and control of balance sheet.

THE JOB :  

Responsible for all general ledger activities and month end closing process.

Control of the Balance sheet and P&L accounts before submitting the month end trial balance.

Responsibility to ensure that the accounts analysis is done at month end that all the variances are explained, and reports are submitted to the US in a timely manner.

Responsibility to ensure that all general ledger balance sheet accounts are reconciled and signed, and the checklist is sent promptly to the US.

Responsible for the timely submission of the VAT returns.

Responsibility to ensure that all the SOX controls are performed adequately.

Assist for the year end audit.

Provision of assistance and support to the Finance Manager as required.

Ability to manage multiple tasks while adhering to strict deadlines

THE CANDIDATE PROFILE :

The following are the minimum qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this position.

Fluency in English and French.

At least 3-5 years of working experience in Audit (big 4).

Possess a financial Degree or Similar accounting CPA.

Previous experience with a strong knowledge in external or internal audit in an International/Multi-national company, preferably with a US parent.

Knowledge of US GAAP.

At least three years experience in a dynamic international environment.

Used to adhering to tight reporting deadlines,

Demonstrates an organized and structured approach.

Experience in a transportation or import /export activity would be of advantage.

Highly computer literate, preferably with experience of Excel / Word and Oracle knowledge a distinct advantage.

Communicative, dynamic and team-work oriented personality, with a strong team spirit
